i really enjoyed reading this article! nicely written! Oprah was really life changing for all of us who watched her day after day or only on sick days or catching up over the summer. it was a dream of mine to sit in the audience on her show, and it never got to happen since my dream was like soooo many others who put their names on the list. i also enjoyed the recurring guest experts she brought to us that went on to become huge names in their own right- iyanla vanzant, dr. phil, etc. i'm still rooting for OWN to find it's way and stay afloat. there's some great programming on there.

I actually would still watch the game without Melonie, but to loose Derwin would be a bust!!! The return of the show last year prooved a little dissapointing with the change in the characters, but I have to say this year I have not been dissapointed and it has come back to the show I love...

Happy you posted this Wendy! I'm a music lover of different genres & era's. R&B was part of my coming up and I miss hearing some great soulful music with meaning. What's out there today is very lackluster so more of R&B has my vote for sure.

I am not yet impressed with the characters and I agree that they are overly stereotyped. This show does not have the finesse of Suits or White Collar which was very disappointing. I expected more especially since Michael Ealy is in one of the lead roles. I plan to watch it tonight, with the hopes that it will get better.

On the bright side, I love Kole's styling in this show. His clothes fit his character's personality very well.

I did catch the "Common Law" rerun this morning; the show will probably make it because "In Plain Sight" has ended as a series , so "Common Law" fulfills the "odd couple" buddy TV show for the network.

The pilot was slow, maybe the regular one hour episodes will be better.

The writing on "The Game" changed dramatically from CW to BET, so essentially, it wasn't the same show.
BET appeals to a very distinct market with little room for creativity.
I wouldn't be surprised if the next development is that the show is cancelled altogether.

I love our President even more now! As you said, his courage to express his opinion in an election year is unparalleled. When I was first eligible to vote, it was to re-elect Jimmy Carter, so I've endured many a president and have seen the political and social landscape change. President Obama is the first president that truly voices and represents all that I've dreamed for this country. I am so happy that the young voters have finally caught up to us old idealists.
President Obama is an intelligent, thoughtful and reflective leader...and compassionate! It is obvious in his speech, demeanor and decision-making. I am so proud that he is our President and a man perfectly well suited to our times. Thank you Cocoa-Popps for your article!

This is funny, however, I read BOTH of his "relationship" books & I don't remember a single thing from either of them. I guess I didn't take it too personally or whatever, but I do know this: most of the best advice is given by people who one can relate to. I would suspect from his radio show listeners/comedy show devotees that they are people who would date a man like Steve Harvey: to each his own.
John Grey, who wrote "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" has been married 2 or 3 times , Tony Robbins is on his second marriage, and many of the female "relationship experts" - - Patti Stanger , for example, aren't even in a relationship.
Another funny thing: My thirteen year old DAUGHTER wants to see the movie; I think it will be comedic in tone with a feel good message, and hey, if nothing else, Michael Ealy is GREAT eye candy.

I had high hopes for the Game when it was still on network television, but as you stated as well, the characters began to get lost in the plots. There was some development and then some characters just...well...were there. Melanie, as the main character, should have developed much further. She reverted back to high school like behavior. Sadly, I can't get into it at all now.

I'm still watching because I feel like I'd be abandoning a once beloved show if i didn't. I agree that it is not as good as it used to be, but I definitely think that it'll get back on course and make us remember why we fell in love with the show in the first place!

Glad it got renewed for a 6th season!!

Excellent recap!!! We had an AMAZING time despite some of Tony Robbins' comments. Like we said before - no one is perfect. His overall message was empowering and inspiring.
